Northeast YSFON team beat Northwest to emerged Champions at the just Concluded National U-16 Football Championship Kaduna


YSFON northeast Football team has emerged Champions at the just Concluded YSFON National U-16 Football Championship Kaduna after beating Northwest YSFON team by a lone goal in the final match.

The final match which took place at the main bowl of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kaduna witnessed lot of dignitaries from various sectors and spectators who came to witnessed the National event.

Abdulrahman Ali scored the only goal for the Northeast Team in the first half of the game in front of Northwest supporters.

The Northwest Team have been putting pressure on the Northeast Team to ensure they equalise the goal but unfortunately with the brilliant performance of northeast goal keeper Adamu Ibrahim did not give any room for the host team to equalize and the match ended 1-0 in favour of the north east.

Speaking after presenting the trophy to the winning team, The Controller Nigeria Immigration service Kaduna State command, Bashir Muhammad Lawal expressed Delight with the performance of the entire participating players urging them to put more effort in order to succeed in their football career.

While commending YSFON for organising such championship, the Controller Said Nigeria immigration service will do everything possible to assist the sports industry in all areas especially at the grassroots level.

Also speaking, one of the invited guest and YSFON beneficiary during his playing time, Mansur Abubakar Explained that Nigeria has lot of talents which if will be supported can represent the country at National and international Competitions.

He emphasized the need for Government and other stakeholders to invest in sports in order to assist the younger players who are Aspiring to be a professional footballers in their future.

Commenting on behalf of Northwest Team, YSFON Secretary Kebbi state, Northwest organising secretary and recent Appointed Special Adviser to Kebbi state Governor on sports, Alhaji Babangida Sarki who expressed Delight on the performance of their team despite the lose, called on the players to exercise patiants as football is a game of winning or losing and another opportunity will come any time.

In a remark, Abdulgaffar who spoke on behalf of YSFON Secretary Kaduna Abdulrazak Usman said players were scouted during the Championship and they will immediately depart Kaduna for another Important Programme in Kebbi state Were white men will Scout the best players to Europe.

Meanwhile, in the third place match North Central defeated South-south on penalty shootout to finished third and the South South ended the Championship in fourth position.

Yahatu Mula of Northwest who hailed from Kebbi state won the highest goal scorer of the championship with eight goals while Adamu Ibrahim of northeast emerged as the best goalkeeper and Bashir Muhammad won the most valuable player.
